KARA Clinical Surpasses 130,000 AI Skin Analyses in Korea in Under Eight Months

Averaging more than 500 analyses a day since February 2026, the free tool answers the question everyone asks in front of the mirror, and signals a shift: people want to understand their skin with data before deciding what to put on it

The problem isn‘t your skin; it’s that they sold you marketing, not engineering.

SEOUL, South Korea--(뉴스와이어)--KARA Clinical Global, the Seoul-based at-home skincare technology company, today announced that its free AI skin analysis has passed 130,000 completed analyses in Korea since it went live in February 2026, an average of more than 500 a day. Each analysis is a zone-by-zone reading of the face, built from three photos and seven questions, that ends in a skincare recommendation.

The question in front of the mirror

Every skincare routine eventually runs into the same question: is my skin actually improving, or does it just feel that way? Most people answer it by memory, by lighting or by mood. A good day looks like progress; a tired morning looks like failure. Without a consistent way to measure, it is almost impossible to know whether a product, a device or a routine is doing its job.

The industry has not made that question easier. Many skin analysis tools deliver a single reading and stop there. Some charge for it and take days to return a result. Others show a simulated “after” image that no skin has actually reached. And too often, the analysis is little more than the first step of a sales pitch.

KARA Clinical built its analysis to do the opposite. The idea came directly from the company’s KARA Clinical Transformation Program (KCTP), which launched in Korea in October 2024, now has more than 20,000 active subscribers, and depends on measuring the skin the same way, month after month. The team asked a simple question: what if anyone, not only program patients, could measure their skin with the same consistency, for free, in about a minute and a half?

“When we started, the question was whether people would take the time to measure before they buy. One hundred and thirty thousand analyses answer it. For us, this is proof that a system built on consistent data can scale without losing precision, and it is why we are now opening the analysis to users around the world,” said Seo Min-Jae, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of KARA Clinical.

What is behind every analysis

· Eight aspects of the skin: texture, pores, lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, redness, breakouts, tone evenness and dark circles, each rated on one of four levels.

· A zone-based reading, powered by a 478-point facial mesh that places each finding on its area of the face, instead of giving a single score for the whole face.

· Results in about 90 seconds, free of charge, with no sign-up and no credit card.

· A new measurement after 30 days with the same criteria, so progress is compared with data, not memory. The “after” is a real second reading, never a simulated image.

· Honesty under uncertainty: if an area is not clearly visible in a photo, it is marked “not assessable” rather than guessed.

A shift in behavior

For the company, the number matters less as a record than as a signal. Choosing a product or a treatment used to depend on a friend’s advice or an advertisement. Today, more than 500 times a day in Korea alone, someone starts with a different question: what does my skin actually need?

That shift also changes what comes afterward. A reading that places redness in one zone and uneven tone in another leads to a very different routine than a generic suggestion, and it gives the person a baseline to compare against a month later.

“Each of these analyses is a moment when someone chose to look at their skin more carefully. Our responsibility is to make that reading serious, and useful for better care, not for impulse buying,” said Dr. Heewon Suh, Chief Medical Officer of KARA Clinical.

Designed to feel simple

Behind the facial mesh and scoring criteria, the experience was designed to feel calm and quick: seven questions about habits, skin type and goals, three guided photos (front, left profile and right profile), and a clear result with a downloadable report and a suggested routine.

“A number like this is really 130,000 small decisions to pay attention. Our job is to make the next step after the analysis feel just as clear and personal as the first one, so that curiosity turns into a routine people actually enjoy keeping,” said Ji A, Co-Founder and Creative Director of KARA Clinical.

What comes next

A global version of the analysis is now available in English and Spanish, so that anyone, anywhere, can take it from a smartphone. KARA Clinical is also preparing a more complete report and a deeper integration with KCTP, which turns the reading into a care plan approved by a healthcare professional, with regular check-ins and home-use KARA Clinical devices supported by four randomized controlled trials.
